School Engagement

What better way to start the new academic year than with an inspirational and educational visit to the 2018 School Games. A range of exciting and innovative opportunities are on offer, so why not combine your sport spectating with a memorable, thought provoking experience at the inspirational Loughborough University campus.

Aspirational sport

On Thursday 30th and Friday 31st August, inspire your pupils with a visit to Loughborough University to take in the action-packed sport on offer. There’s something for everyone, from traditional hockey and netball to wheelchair basketball and the brand new laser run. Check out the full range of sports that are on offer to watch and book your tickets here. School tickets are only £1 per spectator.

Primary resource pack

Primary schools can access a primary resource pack for free when purchasing spectator tickets. This pack is full of fun, focused activities to do with your pupils in the build up to the games. Schools will be contacted directly after booking with details of how to download the resource. There will also be activities from the resource delivered on Friday 31st August as part of our school zone.

Educational workshops (secondary specific)

On Friday 31st August, Loughborough University will not only be hosting the iconic School Games, but will also be opening up its facilities to deliver curriculum focused workshops and holistic health and wellbeing sessions to local secondary schools who have purchased spectator tickets.

The 1 hour workshops and sessions are at no additional cost to spectating school groups (just be sure to purchase your spectator tickets first) and are aimed at KS3 and GCSE PE students. So why not make the most of your visit and combine sport spectating with a workshop delivered by World leading Loughborough University academics, elite athletes and university students, that will support your pupil’s knowledge, skills and understanding and wider awareness of health and wellbeing issues.

School activity zone

Located on the astro pitches on campus, the school activity zone will have a health and wellbeing theme and include the following:

  • Health activities
  • Smoothie bikes
  • Mini games and activities
