This year's 2021 School Games National Finals will have livestreams from each of the ten sports!

We are really disappointed not to be able to welcome spectators onto site, but for a range of reasons we had to make decisions to ensure that the event could take place for the young athletes, and take place as safely as possible. These decisions were taken through the event steering group, and in liaison with the relevant sporting and public health authorities. All individuals on site will have been through an accreditation process, ensuring that those on site are those who are meant to be there. If spectators arrive on site, they will not be allowed access to the competition. All spectating of the events will be through the livestreams.

This process included provisioning budget for the implementation of testing, creation of a covid-secure site with sport specific bubbles across sport, athletes’ village and accommodation. In a multi-sport environment there are further complications arising from the regulations applied to each sport at this time, and the only solution available was to take the tough decision to take in-person spectatorship away from the School Games National Finals this year.

We know that this will disappoint athletes, parents, family members, friends and sports fans, and that it will feel like a very different School Games National Finals in 2021 as a result.

That's why this year's National Finals competition will all be livestreamed through the Youth Sport Trust YouTube channel. You'll be able to watch live coverage of the ten sports competing over the National Finals weekend and catch up with daily highlights and clips. Subscribe to the channel to make sure you don't miss out!
